The Endless City focuses on the liminal spaces where urban boundaries intersect with nature in a constant state of transformation. As cities expand rapidly, the identity of these spaces is continuously reshaped; every new structure, every crossroads blurs once-distinct borders. Inspired by Walter Benjamin’s concept of "Passages", the series unveils the blurred lines between the natural and the constructed, making the processes driving urban dynamics visible.
Photographed in cities like Ankara, Mersin, Erzincan, and Kırklareli, The Endless City examines the intricate relationship between the ever-growing urban fabric and its connection to nature, as well as the societal structures that emerge within these processes. Drawing inspiration from Italo Calvino’s "Invisible Cities", which explores the imaginative ties between cities and their essence, and Jane Jacobs’ keen observations on the dynamics of urban life, this project approaches cities not merely as physical spaces but as intersections of social, cultural, and economic interactions. The Endless City invites viewers to uncover the stories behind the seemingly ordinary and to explore the layers of modern urban life.
